OVERVIEW
I rebranded of the World Trails Conference based on the theme: connecting people, places, and the planet. My goal was to emphasize connection and keep it professional with a fun, outdoorsy feel, while also making it inviting to welcome guests and encourage networking and community.
PROCESS
Through intensive research on the background of this conference, I was able to develop this theme and brainstorm ideas. This conference has an organic, restorative, and connective feel, so I created moodboards using those elements to start off. Next, I made posters to go along with those adjectives to further develop the brand guidelines. I played a lot with modifying type to enhance the theme of connection.

BRAND GUIDELINES

EXECUTION
The banner stands below can be seen at the entrance to the World Trails Conference. These suggest ideas of the theme through their connective elements. They also inform guests to check in at this location.

BANNER STANDS

The stage design below shows a drop down screen where a speaker's slides can be presented. The cover slide shown is an example of what a speaker may use. The wall is made of vinyl decals and displays names of trails from significant places that many are traveling from. This also creates a sense of connection for guests to see their trail listed. The names of trails are also listed on the wooden trail signage. 

STAGE DESIGN

Below on the left are template slides for a speaker to use for their presentation at the World Trails Conference. These slides are designed on Canva so they are easily accessible to any individual. On the right are examples of the template slides being used. The speaker introduction slide shows an actual image of a speaker at the conference along with her name and what trail she works at. I also researched the events and workshops presented at the conference and included them in an example slide.

A photo-op backdrop is shown below where guests can write on whiteboards in the shape of trails signs to show where they traveled from. They can use these trail signs as props for their photos. Guests can also place pin stickers onto the locations they are from.

PHOTO-OP BACKDROP AND PROPS

These shirts can be worn by employees working at the World Trails Conference. The front consists of the event title and the back shows the theme wordmark in a different layout.

SOLUTION
The theme is shown through the use of connective elements in the typography and the graphics. The typography gives a professional but fun feel along with the outdoorsy color palette and textures. The graphics are inviting and welcoming to the guests attending.
